Manchester United duo Michael Carrick and Daley Blind showcase their passing skills in Forex Four challenge

Forget the saying 'three is the magic number' as for Michael Carrick and Daley Blind it's all about four.

The duo set aside their quest to help Manchester United achieve a top-four finish this season by playing a light-hearted game with a twist.

Carrick and Blind took part in the Swissquote Forex Four challenge, a game akin to Connect Four, where they put their passing skills to the test.

The game involved both putting their passing skills to the test by kicking balls through holes from a distance

Both players went head-to-head as they attempted to kick balls from distance through holes on a giant 'Forex Four' board.

Each hole which the players successfully managed to kick a ball through was filled with a token in the player's corresponding colour, with the winner being the first player to successfully connect four holes in a row.

On this occasion it was Carrick who emerged victorious, slotting four of his shots in a diagonal line across the board, two more than Blind.

'I enjoyed the challenge, although I'm not sure if Daley did,' said the victorious Carrick afterwards.

'It's a lot harder than it looks, it takes all day to get one token on the board never mind four!'

Blind on the other hand was clearly disappointed to lose out to his team-mate: 'I don't think I enjoyed it as much as Michael because unfortunately he won, but congratulations to him,' he said.

'It's really difficult and sometimes you just have to take a shot and hope it goes in.'

He and Carrick, who was rested in the midweek win, will be hoping to be triumphant once more on Saturday when Louis van Gaal's side face Everton in a FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
